NESVIZH (MINSK Region) - Nesvizh Castle (WHS Unesco)


The Radziwills family built Nesvizh Castle in the 16th century, where they lived until 1939. The foundation stone for Nesvizh Palace was laid in 1584. It was rebuilt many times, and as a consequence, it has characteristics of many architectural styles. In 2006 it was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List.

SERBIA

RASKA (District) -  Studenica Monastery (WHS Unesco)


The Studenica Monastery, located in the Raška district of central Serbia, is the largest and richest of the Serbian Orthodox monasteries. It was founded near the Studenica River in the late 12th century by Stefan Nemanja, also known as Saint Simeon, who established the medieval Serbian state. His remains, as well as those of his wife Anastasia and the first Serbian king, Stephen the First Crowned, rest in this monastery.
It is a World Heritage Site declared by UNESCO since 1986.

UPPER HARZ (Region) - Upper Harz Water Shelves (WHS Unesco)


The Upper Harz Water Regale is a system of dams, reservoirs, ditches, and other structures, many of which were built between the 16th and 19th centuries to divert and store the water that powered the waterwheels of the mines in the Upper Harz region. from Germany. JAPAN

HIRAIZUMI (Iwate Prefecture) - Chuson-ji temple (WHS Unesco)


Chūson-Ji is the main temple of the tendai Buddhist branch in Tohoku (Northeast of Japan). It is believed that Chūson-Ji was founded by Fujiwara no Kiyohira (of the Fujiwara clan) in the year 1100.
In June 2011, Chūson-Ji was included by UNESCO as a World Heritage as part of the "Hiraizumi historical monuments and sites."

LISBON - Belem Tower (WHS Unesco)


The Torre de Belém, in the Manueline style, was built between 1515 and 1519 and is the work of Francisco de Arruda. The tower is located at the mouth of the Tagus River and was initially used to defend the city, and later became a customs center and lighthouse. In 1983, it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Bern is the federal city and de facto capital of Switzerland. It is also the capital of the homonymous canton. The old city of Bern has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1983, thanks to its medieval architecture preserved through the centuries.

ARG-É-BAM (Kerman Province) - Bam Citadel (WHS Unesco)


Sometime between 579 and 323 B.C. During the Achaemenid Persian period, the citadel of Bam (in Persian Arg-é Bam) was built in the southeast of present-day Iran, a huge fortress made of mud that is considered the largest building in the world made of adobe. It is located next to the city of the same name in the province of Kerman and near the border with Pakistan.

SIRACUSA (Sicilia) - The harbour and Castle of Ortigia (WHS Unesco)


Syracuse is an Italian city located in the east of Sicily, on the coast. It was founded by the Greeks in the year 734 B.C. in what is now known as the island of Ortigia, and was consecrated to the goddess Artemis. It soon became the most important Greek city on the island and a leading cultural center of Ancient Greece.
Since 2005, Syracuse and the rocky Necropolis of Pantálica have been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

MANILA - San Agustin church intramuros (WHS Unesco)

The Church of San Agustín is a Catholic church located within the historic walls of the city of Manila, in the area called Intramuros. Completed in 1607, it is the oldest extant church in the Philippines. No other building older than the church has survived. In 1976 the Philippine government declared it a Historic Monument. In 1993 the church was included along with three others built during the Spanish colonial period in the list of World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.

AUSCHWITZ-BIRKENAU - Concentration Camp (WHS Unesco)

Located in Oświęcim about 43 km west of Krakow, it was the largest extermination center of Nazism. The Auschwitz complex was made up of various concentration and extermination camps of Nazi Germany in the Polish territories occupied during World War II. It included Auschwitz I (original camp), Auschwitz II-Birkenau (concentration and extermination camp), Auschwitz III-Monowitz (IG Farben labor camp) and 45 more satellite camps.

UNITED KINGDOM

CARDIFF BAY - Lightship 2000 "Goleulong 2000"


Lightship 2000 (Welsh: Goleulong 2000) was a restored old red light vessel with a cafe and chapel on board situated in Cardiff Bay. The ship was launched in 1953 and from that year until 1989 she was a light vessel in operation at various locations in the UK, ending her life off Rhossili on the Gower Peninsula to warn of the Helwick Swatch, a treacherous shoal. She was bought in 1993 and refurbished as a floating Christian center.
The ship closed in 2013 and in May 2015 she left Cardiff. It was planned to restore the ship and make it a floating museum in Newnham on Severn.
