GERMANY

BAMBERG - View from the Geyerswörther tower (WHS Unesco)

Bamberg is a city in the Bavarian region of Germany, on the banks of the Regnitz River. With a thousand years of history, the legacy that this Bavarian city has accumulated is remarkable, starting with the cathedral. The original, from 1004, was destroyed by fire; the New one, from 1237, raises its four magnificent Romanesque towers to the sky. Its historic hull was declared a World Heritage Site in 1993.
